We spent a wonderful week in this lovely place, surrounded with a beautyful scenery and a lot of birds. The apartment with two wonderful bathrooms also is very lovely with a great view into the colourful landscape.
We also enjoyed the very friendly hosts Lia and Corne, who gave us a lot of ideas, where to go for special birds and flowers! When we returned in the evening, we could tell about our experiences and got a very delicious supper, cooked by themselves.
We are sure, we will return, if we may travel to Extremadura again!

    “Lovely quiet spit”
Just spent a week in the lovely sunny Spanish Extremadura, in this charming finca. The accommodation was spacious and clean with 2 ensuites ideal for a family with 2 teenagers. The pool was lovely, great view. The owners, Corne and Lia, were very hospitable and helpful. We were there strictly for a few days of complete rest, reading and relaxation but clearly it’s a great area for birds at the right time of year and Corne knows a lot and is happy to provide info and recommendations.
    2 small points….
The houses accommodate 4 comfortably so it would be good to have 4 rather than just the 2 gas rings we had.
Sun loungers, there are only 4 and the lovely Belgian family who were staying there at the same time were happy to share but it’d be better not to have to rely on that.
All in all a Lovely week

This place is awesome. We spent a week there for walking and birdwatching, Being in Extremadura for the first time, we were stunned by the beauty of the landscapes and numbers of birds you see, among them many species formerly abundant in Central Europe but now very rare. Mérida with its remains from Roman, Visigoth and Moorish times is also worth visiting.
Lia and Corné are great hosts, and their place is like home far away from home.
And about good spots to see rare bird species: just ask Corné, and he will tell you where the probability is highest to see and hear them.
